Art Connection / NEFA Murals Local Arts Council Projects Other Projects
Click small image to go to project pageCombining ideas of art therapy and community art, Tova has facilitated
many community murals around the greater Boston area and beyond. The
intention is to empower communities in the creation of art that is
meaningful to them by working with the community members throughout the
entire mural process, from design to completed painting. Most
participants have been people who have never painted a mural before
and who don't consider themselves artists. But when given the
opportunity, all have surpassed what they thought they could do and
have worked together to create lasting murals to enjoy while building
self esteem, learning about teamwork, and uncovering hidden talents.
The inner beauty of each community mural lay in the power of the
process.
BREAKING NEWS: Tova was recently recognized by the Mass Cultural Council with the Gold Star Award for her Arlington Heights Bus Depot Community Mural Project.
